Mykhailo Podoliak, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said that Russia has resorted to another covert mobilisation campaign in order to replenish the significant losses that the Russian army has suffered in the war with Ukraine.

Quote from Podoliak: "Given the heavy losses of the Russian army, the Kremlin has resorted to a two-pronged covert mobilisation campaign: prisoners charged with serious crimes are recruited and national battalions are created representing Russia’s imperial colonies (Mari El, Tatarstan, etc.)"

Details: Podoliak believes that Moscow is continuing to do everything within its power to avoid large-scale conscription of ethnic minorities in Russia.
