Details: The schedule of the military training grounds obtained by Belaruski Hajun indicates that the exercises have been extended by another week. There will be a rest day on 7 August for all training grounds; some will also have 6 August off.
Quote: "The total duration of military exercises has now reached 15 weeks.
It’s worth noting that the Belarusian army is now better prepared for defence operations. However, it remains unprepared to conduct offensive operations at scale due to the lack of any real combat experience [among its troops]."
Background:
- Belarus has already extended its military exercises several times; the latest extension was announced on 29 July.
- In August it was reported that a Belarusian military contingent will take part in joint tactical and special exercises as part of units of both the Special Operations Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Belarus.
