Russians still frightened by Right Sector: supporter of Ukrainian nationalist group allegedly planned terrorist strikes

The Russian FSB has reported the detention in Cherkessk [Russia - ed.] of an alleged supporter of Right Sector [Pravyi sektor; a Ukrainian nationalist organisation] who was planning attacks on law enforcement officers and military personnel.

Quote from FSB: "In Cherkessk (Karachay-Cherkess Republic) a local resident – a citizen of the Russian Federation, born in 1992 – was harboring intentions of committing terrorist actions against local law enforcement officers and military personnel under the patronage of the Right Sector organization (recognised as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation)."

Details: According to the Russian special service, the Russian citizen planned to leave for Ukraine after the attacks.

"At the address of his residence, as well as in the hideout equipped by him, two improvised explosive devices with a capacity of about 3 kg in TNT equivalent, components for the manufacture of improvised explosive device, diagrams of approaches to the buildings of the Prosecutor's Office and the Military Commissariat were found, and in the means of communication – there were correspondences with active members of the Right Sector organisation, which exposed his criminal intentions, and the symbolism of an extremist organisation," the FSB claims.

They also said that the detainee "gave a confession".

The investigative unit of the FSB opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 30 p. "A" Part 2 of Article 205 (preparation for a terrorist act) and Part 2 of Article 282.2 (participation in an extremist organisation) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

Previously: In 2014, the Russian TV channel "Lifenews" published a report on another shelling in Sloviansk, where a car allegedly burned out, but weapons, American money and the business card of Dmytro Yarosh, then the head of Pravyi sektor were found at the scene. Since then, "Yarosh's business card" has become a meme.

In the following years, terrorist attacks allegedly planned by supporters of the Right Sector were repeatedly reported in Russia.
