During the war, children have been actively helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine; they have been raising funds by playing checkers, washing cars, and selling lemonade and flowers.

Six-year-old Sofiia Nersesian performs at charity concerts in Kyiv to collect money for Ukrainian defenders.

Singing at the Hryshko National Botanical Garden, the girl has already collected more than 380 dollars for the army’s needs.

The little volunteer donated the entire proceeds to the Serhii Prytula Charity Foundation.

The story of the young volunteer is featured on the Muzvar YouTube channel.

6-year-old Sofiia Nersesian started singing Ukrainian songs in February, when she had to leave the country due to shelling.

Her mother Anna Nersesian supported her daughter and started putting videos of her performances on TikTok and Instagram.

"I want Ukraine to win as soon as possible. So, I am collecting money for a big spaceship to send Russians to another planet," Sofia says.

Initially, Anna Nersesian would put small amounts of money in her daughter’s wallet in order to support her talent and help the Armed Forces.

Then, Sofiia decided she wanted to donate the money to the Serhii Prytula Charity Foundation. Prytula is a famous Ukrainian TV presenter, entrepreneur and volunteer.

"Sofiia said she wanted to see Prytula to pass him her savings. Of course, I realised that the amount in her wallet was not enough, so I offered to arrange a concert and collect more funds for her ‘space’ dream," says Anna.

"It all happened very fast. People we know helped us with speakers, a microphone and a little podium. We put invitations on Instagram and waited for the show day," says the young performer’s mother.

Sofiia sang "Stefania" by Kalush Orchestra (Ukraine’s entry and the winning song of Eurovision 2022), "Shum by Go-A" (Ukraine’s entry in Eurovision 2021), as well as "Oy, U luzi Chervona kalyna" (Oh, In the meadow, Red Kalyna), and her very own song called "Odna-Yedyna" (The One and Only).

After the performance, the girl passed Prytula the proceeds that she had raised.

"When I was your age, I wanted to become an astronaut, but your dream makes more sense than mine when I was a child," said Prytula, promising her to buy a spaceship.

Sofiia plans to keep performing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
