Ukrainian Armed Forces bust and eliminate Russian reconnaissance group – General Staff report

A Russian reconnaissance group attempted to conduct reconnaissance in the vicinity of Potomkine on the Pivdennyi Buh front, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine revealed it and put it out of action.

Details: Russia continues to ramp up the presence of its troops and electronic reconnaissance systems on the Volyn and Polissia fronts.

On the Sivershchyna front, Russia continues to deploy separate units from its Western Military District in parts of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts (Russia) near the Russian-Ukrainian border in order to demonstrate its military presence in the area and pin down the Ukrainian Defence Forces [and therefore prevent them from being transferred to other, more active fronts - ed.]. Russian forces shelled the village of Tovstodubove in Sumy Oblast using tubed artillery.

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces used tubed and rocket artillery to fire on civilian infrastructure targets in and around Svitlychne, Peremoha, Protopopivka, Dementiivka, Petrivka, Cherkaski Tyshky, Odnorobivka, Zamulivka and Tsyrkuny. Russian aircraft carried out an airstrike near Husarivka.

The Russians conducted assault operations in an attempt to advance on Dementiivka, but failed and had to retreat.

On the Sloviansk front, the Russians used tubed artillery and multiple-launch rocket systems (MLRS) to fire on areas in and around Dolyna, Dibrivne and Krasnopillia and conducted aerial reconnaissance near Nova Dmytrivka. They deployed an electronic warfare system in order to interfere with the Ukrainian military navigation systems.

Russian forces shelled areas in the vicinity of Sydorove, Verkhnokamianske, Rozdolivka and Kalenyky on the Kramatorsk front, and used UAVs to reconnoitre the positions of the Ukrainian forces in the area.

The Ukrainian Defence Forces prevented the Russians from advancing on Hryhorivka.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian troops used all available weapons to fire on the Ukrainian positions in the vicinity of Bakhmutske, Vesela Dolyna, Zaitseve and Kodema. Areas in and around Zaitseve and Soledar sustained Russian airstrikes.

Several Russian units attempted to improve their tactical positions in the vicinity of Soledar, Zaitseve and Maiorsk, but failed and retreated.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian forces used tubed and rocket artillery, as well as tank guns, to attack crucial civilian and military infrastructure targets and inflict losses on Ukrainian units near Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Krasnohorivka, Zalizne and Novobakhmutivka. Russian aircraft targeted areas in and around Marinka and Valentynivka. 

Russian troops conducted offensive operations in order to advance on Nevelske, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled them, forcing the Russians to retreat. The Russians used UAVs to carry out aerial reconnaissance in order to adjust their artillery fire.

On the Novopavlivka front, Russian units used a variety of weapons at their disposal to fire on areas in and around Vuhledar, Novomykhailivka and Velyka Novosilka. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes near Volodymyrivka. The Russians waged an offensive battle on Prechystivka but were not successful and retreated.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the Russians fired on areas near Novopil, Huliaipilske, Charivne and Shevchenko. In addition, Russian airstrikes landed in and around Novopil, Huliaipilske, Novodanylivka and Olhivske.

Russian forces on the Pivdennyi Buh front are focusing their main efforts on preventing the Ukrainian Armed Forces from advancing.

The Russians used tank guns, tubed artillery and MLRS to fire on areas in and around Nikopol, Oleksandrivka, Stepova Dolyna, Kobzartsi, Ternivka, Topolyne, Andriivka and Lozove. Russian aircraft carried out airstrikes near Velyke Artakove, Pervomaiske and Olhyne.
