Quote from SSU: "As a result of a multi-stage special operation in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, a group of collaborators working with the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (better known as the GRU), which was collecting data on the deployment and movement of Ukrainian defence forces in the south, was unmasked."
Details: It is reported that a resident of temporarily occupied Melitopol was the leader of the traitors. The woman involved her father-in-law from the region’s capital to collect data.
He carried out external observation of the movement of Ukrainian troops and took photos. Suspects communicated through closed communication channels.
The traitor passed the information she received from her relative to the occupiers to help them plan and prepare a series of rocket and artillery attacks on Zaporizhzhia.
The SSU officers have detained a member of the group from Zaporizhzhia when he tried to pass on classified information to the invaders.
The organiser of the group was informed about the suspicion against him in absentia. Measures are underway to bring the traitor to justice.
