Blasts rock several Crimean cities, Russian occupiers claim air defence activated near Belbek airfield

Local Crimean Telegram channels reported that Russian air defence systems were activated in several cities in Russian-occupied Crimea. The occupiers have confirmed that their air defence systems were operating near the Belbek military airfield.

Quote from Razvozhayev: "Our air defence systems have struck several more targets that were approaching Belbek from Yevpatoriia."

Details: Later on, Razvozhayev added that "air defence systems were working in Kozachok, near Cape Khersones."

Meanwhile, local Telegram channels state that eyewitnesses have reported explosions in Sevastopol, Bakhchysarai, Yevpatoriia and Novofedorivka.

Earlier: Blasts have become increasingly frequent in Crimea over the last several days; Russian air defence systems are frequently activated.

On the evening of 20 August, for example, Russian occupiers in Crimea claimed that their air defence systems were activated in Sevastopol and in the village of Olenivka in the Chornomorskyi district in western Crimea.

Refat Chubarov, leader of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, said that six to seven "flashes" were seen, accompanied by blasts, in the late hours of Saturday, 20 August in the sea off the coast of Crimea, near Alupka.
