Over 23 million tonnes of new harvest grain already collected in Ukraine

Ukrainian farmers have reaped 23.4 million tonnes of early grain of the new harvest. The grain was collected from 55% of the total seeded area, that is, 6.1 million hectares.

The press-service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reports about this.

Agrarians have already threshed:

  • 17.4 million tonnes of wheat;
  • 5.3 million tonnes of grain;
  • 243.7 thousand tonnes of peas;
  • 7.7 thousand tonnes of millet.

According to latest reports, by now, the farmers have collected 91% of wheat, 96% of barley, 97% of peas, and 98% of rapeseed.

The leaders in terms of harvest collection are:

  • Mykolaiv Oblast – 86%;
  • Odesa Oblast – 85%;
  • Volyn and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts – 70%;
  • Kirovohrad Oblast – 60%.

The biggest grain and leguminous crop yield is reported in the Khmelnytskii Oblast – 62.0 quintals per hectare.

The agrarians of the Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad and Odesa regions threshed more than 2 million tonnes of grain; in the Vinnytsia, Volyn, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Poltava, Ternopil, Khmelnytskii and Cherkasy regions, they collected over 1 million tonnes of grain in each.
