Details: Over the course of the night, Russian forces attacked three Kharkiv neighbourhoods.

First, they targeted the Saltivskyi neighbourhood, hitting a residential building where several of the residents had hearing impairments, on the night of 17 August. The State Emergency Service (SES) has reported that the fire was contained at 23:38. The emergency workers are continuing to extinguish the fire and search for people trapped under the rubble.

Early reports indicate that seven civilians have been killed and 20 injured as a result of the attack on the building. The SES has rescued four of them from under the rubble. (Earlier reports suggested that the attack had killed seven civilians and injured 13.)

Then the Russians carried out five missile strikes on Kharkiv beginning at 04:32 on 18 August, hitting the Slobidskyi and the Kholodnohirskyi neighbourhoods. Early reports indicated there were five casualties.

A large fire broke out in an administrative building in the Kholodnohirskyi neighbourhood following the Russian strike, with the fire engulfing about half-a-dozen cars parked outside the building. The building collapsed.
