Russia continues to deploy troops near Russian-Ukrainian border in Bryansk and Kursk oblasts of Russia – General Staff report

The Russian Federation continues to deploy its troops in the areas near the Russian-Ukrainian border in Bryansk and Kursk oblasts (in Russia).

Quote from the General Staff: "On the Sivershchyna front, the enemy continues to deploy units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the border-adjacent areas of Bryansk and Kursk oblasts in order to pin down the [Ukrainian] Defence Forces."

Details: There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. The Belarusian Armed Forces continue to ensure the security of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel oblasts (in Belarus). There is an ongoing threat of missile and air strikes on Ukraine from the territory of Belarus.

Russian troops are continuing to carry out combat operations on the Slobozhanshchyna front to maintain their positions and prevent the Ukrainian forces from advancing.

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces fired on areas in and around Karasivka, Petrivka, Bazaliivka, Rtyshchivka, Duvanka, Ivanivka, Mospanove, Lisne, Velyki Prokhody, Pytomnyk, Husarivka and Chepil using tank guns and rocket and tubed artillery. They remotely delivered mines to the area near Lebiazhe. 

On the Sloviansk front, Russian troops used artillery to shell areas in and around Velyka Komyshuvakha, Virnopillia, Adamivka and Dovhenke.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian troops used tank guns and multiple-launch rocket systems to fire on areas in and around Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Spirne, Donetske, Ivano-Darivka, Siversk, Zvanivka and Raihorodok. In addition, they conducted an airstrike near Vesela.

The Russians conducted an offensive on the Mykolaivka – Vyimka axis but were unsuccessful and retreated.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired on areas in the vicinity of Bakhmut, Soledar, Rozdolivka, Kodema and Maiorsk. They conducted offensive operations on the following axes: Volodymyrivka – Soledar, Pokrovske – Bakhmutske, Pokrovske – Bakhmut, Klynove – Bakhmut, Semyhiria – Zaitseve, Semyhiria – Kodema Holmivskyi – Zaitseve. However, the Russians made no gains on any of those axes and were forced to retreat, with losses.

On the Avdiivka front, Russian forces used tubed and rocket artillery, as well as tank guns, to fire on the areas in the vicinity of Avdiivka, Marinka, Oleksandropil, Pisky, Pervomaiske and Opytne.

Russian forces attempted to advance on the Lozove – Pervomaiske axis, but were not successful and were forced to retreat.

On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian forces are defending their current positions. They fired on areas in and around Novosilka, Novomykhailivka, Bohoiavlenka, Stepnohirsk, Shevchenko, Burlatske, Zaliznychne, Huliaipilske, Lukʼianivske, Preobrazhenka and Poltavka and conducted aerial reconnaissance near Poltavka, Huliaipole, Malynivka, Zelenyi Hai, Shcherbaky and Novoiakovlivka. A Russian attempt to carry out an assault operation on the Yehorivka – Shevchenkove axis failed and the Russians retreated.

Russian forces are focusing their main efforts on the Pivdennyi Buh front on maintaining their current positions and pinning down the Ukrainian Defence Forces. They fired on areas in and around Mykolaiv, Stepova Dolyna, Luch, Posad-Pokrovske, Halytsynove, Oleksandrivka, Myrne, Shyroke, Kvitneve, Kyselivka, Kobzartsi, Pervomaiske, Kavkaz, Murakhivka, Andriivka, Osokorivka, Ivanivka and Trudoliubivka. Russian aircraft carried out strikes near Bila Krynytsia, Blahodatne and Balka Khutirska (Khutirska creek). Russian forces also used UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance in the vicinity of Bilohirka, Lozove, Pervomaiske, Oleksandrivka, Trudoliubivka, Osokorivka and Ivanivka.

The General Staff reports that three Russian naval cruise missile carriers are on standby in the waters of the Black and Azov seas.
