There is record-breaking traffic on the Kerch/ Crimean bridge in Russia-occupied Crimea. On 15 August, 38,297 cars went in both directions.

- On 16 August in the morning, in the Dzhankoi district of Crimea, a Russian ammunition point in the village of Maiske was hit.
- The occupiers started evacuating the population of Crimea after the detonations at the ammunition storage near Dzhankoi. As of 10:00 on 16 August, nearly 2 thousand people have already left Crimea.
- Later it was revealed that the railway in the north of occupied Crimea was damaged due to the explosion at the occupiers’ ammunition storage site in the village of Maiske, so trains from Russia won’t go further than Vladyslavivka in the east of the peninsula.
- Andrii Yermak, the Head of the Office of the President, hinted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are responsible for the explosions in Crimea, and added that the destruction of Russian ammunition storage sites will go on until the Ukrainian territories are fully liberated.
- The New York Times reports that the elite Ukrainian military unit is behind the morning explosions at the storage facility near Dzhankoi in Crimea.
On 9 August, explosions occurred at the Saky military air base in Novofedorivka.
