ANASTASIIA ZHARYKOVA – TUESDAY, 16 AUGUST, 14:38
The seventh and largest convoy, consisting of five ships loaded with Ukrainian agricultural products, has left Ukrainian ports.
The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority reported this on Facebook.
Two ships left from the Port of Pivdennyi. The Brave Commander, chartered by the UN World Food Program, set sail for the port of Djibouti carrying 23,000 tonnes of wheat for Africa. Upon arrival, the food will be distributed to consumers in Ethiopia.
The second vessel, the Panamax Bonita, is heading to South Korea.
In total, more than 80,000 tonnes of food have been shipped from the Port of Pivdennyi.
Almost 30,000 tonnes of wheat and maize have been sent through the "grain corridor" from the Port of Chornomorsk on the bulk carriers Osprey S, Propus and Ramus, which are heading towards the Bosphorus.
"Overall, 21 ships have left Ukrainian ports during the 16 days of operation of the grain corridor. We are working hard to expand the operation of the corridor at the entrance to the ports of Great Odesa," commented Oleksii Vostrikov, director of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
