Details: The head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration reports that Russian forces are trying to make use of every opportunity to create favourable conditions to resume the offensive in several areas.
The Russians are conducting assault operations on several different fronts in order to push the Ukrainian Armed Forces out from their defence positions.
Over the course of 15 August, the Ukrainian army forced the Russians to retreat six times. Fighting still carries on in three areas on the administrative border between Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, in particular in the vicinity of the Lysychansk Oil Refinery.
Quote from Haidai: "The enemy is shelling [Ukrainian] towns and villages and the positions of Ukrainian troops using artillery. Last night alone, [the Russians] delivered four tank attacks and four airstrikes.
[The Russians] are continuing to terrorise [Luhansk Oblast] with their missiles. For example, one of the enemy missiles targeted the building of the Luhansk Oblast Police Department, which is currently based in the neighbouring region."
