Ivan Fedorov, mayor of Melitopol, has said that there has been no gas in the city for three weeks, and the occupiers will not have time to fix the gas supply system and start the heating season on time.

Quote: "As for the heating season, it's almost a disaster. 95% of heating in Melitopol is gas. There has been no gas in the city for three weeks. We understand: there will be no gas until part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast is liberated.
Most likely, the city of Melitopol will be without gas (during the heating season – ed.), because it takes time to repair and restore these systems."
Details: Fedorov noted that Russian media has announced the construction of a new gas pipeline, but it is not clear how they plan to complete it in a month and return gas to the citizens of Melitopol before the start of the heating season.
Background:
- Oleksandr Starukh, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Military Administration, has said that the residents of the oblast should prepare for a tough winter. In particular, he has advised them to stock up on firewood and fuel briquettes.
- Vadym Boichenko, the mayor of Mariupol, reported that the occupiers won’t be able to start the heating season in the city because the gas supply system doesn’t work.
