Adviser to mayor of Mariupol reports that Russia have begun to return deported Mariupol residents

Petro Andriushchenko, an adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, reports that Russia has begun to return the residents of Mariupol home. On 13 August, 60 people were sent by train from Pskov.

Quote from Andriushchenko: "The first case of ‘reverse deportation’ from Russia. Mariupol residents became a problem for the local authorities, so they are being returned home from the Russian city of Pskov.

On Saturday, 60 residents of Mariupol were "voluntarily" put on two rail cars and sent to the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don, where they will be met by authorities from the so-called "DNR" (Donetsk People’s Republic) and taken home."

Andriushchenko explained that most of these people have no remaining homes in the city and will be forced to live on the street or "break into the apartments of other Mariupol residents abandoned during evacuation."

"A great example of Russia's 'care' and ability. Modern Russia is not even able to organise a deportation, however cynical the truth may sound."
