Former so-called "Defence Minister of the Donetsk People's Republic" Igor Girkin (Strelkov) was detained in occupied Crimea when he was travelling to the war in Ukraine with forged documents.

Details: Zhuchkovskiy said that Strelkov "really tried to get to the front, but was detained in Crimea."

The associate claims that Strelkov "did not set any political goals and did not intend to cause confusion in Novorossiya," and the fact that he could not get to the front is allegedly a "major political crime."

The anti-war channel Seiatel vetra (Wind Sower)  published a photo of Girkin and his passport in the name of Sergei Runov, which the ex-commander of the "Donetsk People's Republic" militants tried to use to travel through Crimea. The document was issued in 2015.

The published photo shows Girkin without the moustache he used to wear.
