Russian army receives support from poverty relief fund

The Ingushetia National Development Fund in Russia has purchased sets of armour for Ingush OMON [riot police] servicemen who are fighting in Ukraine.

Details: It is reported that 20 armour sets have been bought with the fund’s money. They include bulletproof vests, helmets, earphones, microphones and first aid kits.
Mahmud-Ali Kalimatov, Head of the Republic of Ingushetia [within the Russian Federation], said he had personally ordered the allocation of the funds to purchase the armour sets for the OMON fighters.
The Ingushetia National Development Fund was set up during the pandemic to support low-income families. The fund bought meat for families, helped them buy medical supplies, and provided aid to repair apartments damaged by fire.
