Fighting continues following Russian offensive on the Donetsk – Pisky axis – General Staff report

Russian forces are attempting to resume an offensive on the Donetsk – Pisky axis. Fighting is currently underway in the area. They also mounted an offensive on two other axes: Mineralne – Avdiivka and Spartak – Avdiivka. There, the Russians suffered losses and retreated.

Details: On the Avdiivka front, Russian forces fired in the area of Marinka, Avdiivka, Opytne, Pisky, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Petrivske, Netailove and Krasnohorivka. There is a threat of missile strikes from the territory of Belarus.

There were no changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. Belarusian and Russian Armed Forces will conduct the first phase of joint military exercises, which will include combat shooting, on 9-11 August on a Russian training ground in Belarus.

On the Sivershchyna front, Russian forces conducted shelling in the vicinity of Senkivka (Chernihiv Oblast) using tubed artillery.

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces used tubed and rocket artillery, as well as tank guns, to fire on the areas in and around Udy, Dementiivka, Nove, Pytomnyk, Ruski Tyshky, Peremoha, Verkhnii Saltiv, Staryi Saltiv, Mospanove, Stara Hnylytsia, Husarivka, Korobochkyne, Piatyhirske and Shevelivka. The Russians made an unsuccessful attempt to advance on the Veterynarne – Udy axis and were forced to retreat, suffering losses. However, fighting is continuing on the Bairak – Husarivka axis.

On the Sloviansk front, Russian forces fired on the areas in the vicinity of Velyka Komyshuvakha, Dmytrivka, Karnaukhivka, Dovhenske, Virnopillia, Nova Dmytrivka, Bohorodychne and Dolyna.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian forces shelled the areas in the vicinity of Siversk, Hryhorivka, Verkhnokamianske, Sydorove and Raihorodok.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces used tubed and rocket artillery, as well as tank guns, to fire on the areas in and around Kostiantynivka, Bakhmut, Ivano-Darivka, Pokrovske, Zaitseve, Kodema, Kurdiumivka, Bakhmutske, Soledar, Yakovlivka and Vershyna. Russian aircraft conducted airstrikes on Spirne, Soledar, Bakhmut, Zaitseve and Vershyna. Russian forces also attempted to conduct offensive operations on the following three axes: Novoluhanske – Spirne, Volodymyrivka – Yakovlivka, Striapivka – Soledar. However, their attempts were unsuccessful and the Russians were forced to retreat.

On the Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, the Russians also used tanks guns and rocket and tubed artillery to fire on the areas in and around Kostiantynopolske, Novomykhailivka, Mala Tokmachka, Velykomykhailivka, Pavlivka, Volodymyrivka, Shevchenko, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Burlatske, Vremivka, Zaliznychne, Stepove, Poltavka, Novosilka, Huliaipole and Mali Shcherbaky. Furthermore, the Russians carried out airstrikes on Pavlivka, Vuhledar and Novosilka.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, the Russians fired on Ukrainian positions in the contact zone using tank guns and artillery of various calibres; they conducted airstrikes near Novohryhorivka, Andriivka and Olhyne, while also using UAVs to conduct aerial reconnaissance in the wider area.

Two Russian naval high-precision missile carriers (armed with Kalibr cruise missiles) are on standby in the waters of the Black Sea. Thus there is a threat of missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine.
