Russia attempts to mount offensive on Bakhmut on a daily basis – Luhansk Oblast Military Administration

Serhii Haidai, head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, has reported that Russia is making daily attempts to mount an offensive on the city of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast.
Source: Haidai on Telegram
Quote: "The Russians are attempting to mount an offensive on Bakhmut on a daily basis, but have not been able to capture the small part of Luhansk Oblast [that remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces] for almost a month.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces are holding the line there and have in effect prevented the enemy from advancing there."
Details: Haidai said that the number of Russian troops in the area and the nature of their activities have not seen any significant changes. Their tactic remains much the same as it was during the hostilities in Luhansk Oblast.
Russia is replenishing the losses in its ground forces with mobilised residents of the occupied territories of Ukraine – for example, from Alchevsk, a city in Luhansk Oblast where the Russians are handing out call-up papers in shopping centres and on public transport.
Russian forces shelled Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and civilian towns and villages in Luhansk Oblast on seven occasions on 31 July, using tubed artillery and mortars. The Russians used multiple-launch rocket systems to carry out four further attacks on the oblast.
