The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleh Nikolenko, criticised a member of the US House of Representatives, Victoria Spartz, for her request to Joe Biden to check the "Russian connections" of the head of the Offce of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak.

As reported by "European Pravda", the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published his comment in this regard on Facebook.

Nikolenko noted that the latest actions and statements byVictoria Spartz "are an undisguised attempt to bring into American politics the classic narratives of Russian propaganda about the alleged connection of the leadership of Ukraine with Russia and to draw our state into the internal policy of the United States."

"We advise Ms Spartz to stop trying to earn additional political capital by groundless speculation relating to the war in our country and the grief of Ukrainians. The manipulation by this congresswoman of Ukrainian origin is especially cynical when it comes to Ukraine and its leadership," he said.

The Foreign Ministry spokesman called on Spartz to "stop undermining the existing mechanisms for providing US military assistance to Ukraine."

"The Ukrainian side interacts as openly as possible with its American partners, providing them with comprehensive information about the use of equipment. Further bureaucratisation and delaying the process, which Victoria Spartz wants, will only contribute to the further advance of the Russian invaders. The Kremlin is counting on such a scenario," he said.

As reported, Victoria Spartz on Friday addressed a request to US President Joe Biden to "brief Congress on the performed due diligence … related to President Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak".

Part of Victoria Spartz's letter to the president is readacted in black ink; the content of this fragment is thus unknown. However, in the reference to the letter made on the Congresswoman’s website, there is a brief mention of the alleged existence, "based on a variety of intelligence, of actions by Mr. Yermak in Ukraine and his alleged dealings in connection with Russia."
