- On 30 June, the Russians fled Zmiinyi (Snake) Island after attacks by the Ukrainian troops, but called their withdrawal a "gesture of goodwill".
- On 7 July, the Ukrainian military raised the Ukrainian flag once again on Zmiinyi (Snake) Island, which had been under the control of Russian troops for several months.
