Russian Federation is setting up pioneer organisation to shape children's world view

A social-state movement for children and youth is to be created in Russia, which will educate and shape the world view of the new generation.

The relevant law has been adopted by the State Duma of the Russian Federation.

Vladimir Putin has been proposed to be the head of the organisation's supervisory board. The organisation will be financed by the Russian government and will be given ownership of children's camps, pioneer palaces and educational institutions. 

Governors are expected to be involved in organising the movement.

According to the authors of the law, the movement will be able to "build a unified policy of education for children and youth in educational organisations."

"The organisation will build a world view and prepare young people for a full life in society," Russian deputies say.

At first, they wanted to call the organisation "The Big Break", but then they changed their minds, saying that the name would be chosen by the participants themselves. The law also states that "foreign agents" cannot be children’s mentors.

The State Duma says that joining the movement will be voluntary.
