Quote from Zhyvytskyi: "Okhtyrka district, Velyka Pysarivka hromada [amalgamated territorial community]. Yesterday [July 29] during the day, civilians were caught in mine detonations on two instances. One person was killed, and four others were injured."
Details: According to Zhyvytskyi, in the first case, 11 mines detonated when they were hit by a truck. The driver died then and there. A passenger and the driver of a car that was driving in the oncoming lane of the road at the time of the explosion were injured.
In the second case, a combine harvester at work in a field ran over a mine. Two farmers were injured in the explosion, and farming equipment was destroyed.
Zhyvytskyi added that if there are signs "mines" in a certain area, then it is forbidden to travel to or pass through that area. Roadsides can also be dangerous, especially in territories which Russians have passed through.
Regarding the work of farmers, the head of the oblast administration stated that fields should be examined by explosives experts before the use of combine harvesters.
Quote from Zhyvytskyi: "From the first day after the de-occupation of Sumy Oblast, we have had regulations stating that bomb technicians must be contacted before working in a field. In the oblast, the sowing campaign was successful without any incidents. I hope that the harvest will be as safe as possible. We are investigating what went wrong in this particular case."
