Zelenskyy visits Odessa: We are ready to export grain

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in Odesa, where he observed the loading of Ukrainian grain onto a Turkish grain carrier, and said that Ukraine is ready to implement the grain agreement.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "We are ready to export Ukrainian grain. We are waiting for a signal from our partners that we can start transportation.
It is important that Ukraine remain the guarantor of world food security. While someone is blocking the Black Sea and taking the lives of people in other countries, we are enabling other countries to survive."
Details: The loading of the Turkish vessel took place at the Chornomorsk sea trade port. According to the president, this first loading since the beginning of the war indicates that the port has started working.
Background:
- Today, the ambassadors of the G7 countries in Ukraine came to Odesa, declaring the importance of the agreement on the export of Ukrainian agricultural products.
- Last Friday, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and the UN signed an initiative in Istanbul to lift the blockade on the export of Ukrainian food by sea.
- The very next day after the signing of the agreement, Russia violated the document by shelling the port of Odesa, an act that was condemned by the UN, the EU and the U.S.; Ankara called on the parties to fulfil the agreements reached.
