Russia prepares to deploy new strike force against Ukraine – Ukrainian Intelligence

Russia is forming the Third Separate Army Corps in its Western Military District in order to address its lack of manpower in Ukraine.

Quote from Skibitskyi: "According to verified information, 8 battalions have been formed by mid-July [to conduct hostilities in Ukraine - ed.]. This was not enough for the Russian Federation. These battalions have been formed haphazardly. Almost anyone could join them. Therefore, Russia decided to form the Third Separate Army Corps to conduct hostilities. It is currently undergoing training in the Western Military District."
Details: Skibitsky clarified that the Russians plan to complete the formation of the corps by mid-August.
The Ukrainian Intelligence has also found that there is a catastrophic shortage of officers in Russian units. The formation of the new army corps is intended, at least in part, to address this issue.
Skibitsky added that Russia’s covert mobilisation efforts have failed.
Background: Since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have killed 40,500 Russian soldiers.
