Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda on Thursday announced the allocation of a new package of military aid to Ukraine.
As European Pravda reports with reference to UNIAN, Nausėda announced this at a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"I haven’t come empty-handed either. Today, the new package is ammunition and ten armoured vehicles. We will soon show anti-drone systems that are manufactured in Lithuania. We know that you need these systems very much," the Lithuanian president said.
He assured that the war in Ukraine will never be a simple present for Lithuania.
"We will not allow others to forget and lose interest. Neither in the West nor in the East. We will make every effort to ensure that those responsible for the crimes of Russia are punished," he stressed.
Separately, he urged the Ukrainian authorities not to stop at the implementation of reforms.
To recapitulate: President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda arrived in Kyiv on the Day of Ukrainian Statehood. There he presented the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, with Lithuania’s highest award - the Order of Vytautas the Great.
In a speech before the Verkhovna Rada, Nausėda assured that Vilnius will continue to push for increased pressure on Russia through international sanctions and increased military aid to Ukraine.
