In the occupied territories of Kharkiv Oblast, the Russians have started accepting documents for obtaining Russian citizenship.

Details: The invaders plan to accept documents under the "simplified registration"system. According to one of the collaborators, at this stage, only a database of those residents wishing to obtain Russian citizenship is being created.
Background:
- In May, President Putin signed a decree on the simplified reception of Russian citizenship of residents of the occupied territories of Ukraine.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine condemned the decree of the President of Russia on the provision of passports to the population of temporarily occupied territories.
- In early June, in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the invaders began to issue the first Russian passports.
