Zelenskyy congratulates Ukrainians on Statehood Day

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has congratulated Ukrainians on Ukrainian Statehood Day and noted that the morning was marked by "rocket terror" by the Russians.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "It’s been a restless morning. Rocket terror again.
We're not giving up. Let's not give up. We cannot be intimidated.
Ukraine is an independent, free, indivisible state. And it will always be that way."
Details: The president published a video dedicated to the day of Ukrainian Statehood.
Quoting the State Anthem of Ukraine to the words of Taras Shevchenko, Zelenskyy noted that "not all foes are far away, like dew in the sun" but Ukrainians are of Cossack origin and their destiny will surely "smile" ("Fate will smile on us").
Reminder: In the morning of 28 July, Russia launched a series of missile attacks on Kyiv, Chernihiv and Kharkiv Oblasts, particularly from the territory of Belarus.

- On 24 August 2021, on the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the date of a new holiday – Ukrainian Statehood Day, which will be celebrated on the Day of Christening of Rus-Ukraine.
- On 31 May 2022, the Verkhovna Rada [Ukrainian parliament - ed.] established that 28 July will be a holiday in Ukraine – Ukrainian Statehood Day.
- In honour of the holiday, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy unveiled visual identity symbols.
