President Volodymyr Zelenskyy honoured the memory of Oleksandr Kukurba, pilot and hero of Ukraine, who died defending Ukraine on 26 July.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "During the full-scale war I have awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine to 160 Ukrainian soldiers. And Major Oleksandr Kukurba is among them – one of the most effective Ukrainian pilots.
In April, I presented him with the "Golden Star" order in the Mariinskyi Palats [Palace], in the White Hall of Heroes of Ukraine.
Major Kukurba died in battle yesterday. It was his hundredth combat sortie. A real Ukrainian hero who we will always remember."

On 26 July, a 28-year-old military pilot Oleksandr Kukurba,, Hero of Ukraine from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, died during hostilities with the Russian occupiers.
