How many Ukrainians left home because of the war and whether they plan to return – survey

19% of Ukrainians have changed their place of residence since the war started.
58% of them are residents of Ukraine's east, according to data from the survey conducted by the sociological group "Rating".
Only 10% of displaced persons do not intend to return to their homes, but over time the number of such people is increasing. In April 2022, 3% planned to stay in the new place, while in June, the figure was 8%.
16% of respondents said that they will return in the near future, and 18% said they will return, but will wait a little longer.
50% said that they intend to return, but only if the war ends, and their number is gradually increasing.
Residents of Ukraine aged 18 and older participated in the survey in all Oblasts, except for the temporarily occupied areas of Crimea and Donbas, as well as those territories where there is no Ukrainian mobile service at the time of the survey.
1000 respondents were surveyed. Survey method: CATI (Computer Assisted Telephone Interviews). The margin of error of representativeness of the study with a confidence level of 0.95 is no more than 3.1%. The survey was conducted on 23-24 July 2022.
