Colonel Huliaiev, Commander of the 28th Mechanised Brigade, is dead

Colonel Vitalii Huliaiev, Commander of the 28th Independent Mechanised Brigade named after the Knights of the First Winter Campaign, died heroically while defending Ukraine in the south of the country.

Details: Fighters in the brigade led by Vitalii Huliaiev repelled attempts to make seaborne assault landings in Odesa and Mykolaiv oblasts, stopped the aggressors’ advance on Mykolaiv, pushed the invaders back and liberated settlements in Kherson Oblast.
Poroshenko appealed to Odesa City Council to support the initiative by the European Solidarity party to rename one of the streets in the colonel's honour.
Background: Vitalii Huliaiev had been fighting on the front lines since 2014. He was appointed Commander of the Odesa 28th Brigade in September 2021.
