The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority has started preparing the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi (formerly Yuzhny) for the resumption of work in connection with the signing in Istanbul of the Initiative for the export of grain and related food products by sea.
This was reported by the press service of the Ukraine Sea Ports Authority.
"In view of the above, we would like to inform you that the arrival and departure of ships at the specified sea ports will be carried out by forming a convoy, which will be accompanied by a leading ship," the statement said.
In order to draw up plans for the formation of convoys, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority requested that applications for the inclusion of vessels be submitted by email.
During the signing of the Initiative and immediately afterwards, Turkish President Recep Erdogan and Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov announced that vessel traffic could resume in the coming days.
