Russian forces attempt to capture Vuhlehirska Power Plant but are repelled by Ukrainian Armed Forces – General Staff report

Russian forces conducted assault operations from several directions in order to establish control over the Vuhelhirska Thermal Power Plant (TPP) in Donetsk Oblast [near the administrative border between Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts - ed.], but the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled these assaults.

Details: On the Bakhmut front, Russian occupying forces are conducting combat operations in order to advance on Bakhmut and capture the territory of the Vuhlehirska TPP. The Russians fired on the areas around Zaitseve, Vershyna, Berestove, Shumy, Bakhmut, Niu-York, Bakhmutske, Pokrovske, Novoluhanske, Vesele and many other towns and villages, and deployed assault and army aircraft.

On the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian forces are systematically firing on the areas around Zolota Nyva, Vuhledar, Vesele, Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka and many other towns and villages. Russian forces deployed UAVs near Mala Tokmachka and Novodarivka. In some areas, Russian forces are performing combat engineering tasks in order to reinforce their positions.

On the Sloviansk front, Russian forces used artillery to fire on the areas around Chepil, Bohorodychne and Adamivka.

On the Kharkiv front, the Russians fired on the area around Pytomnyk, Petrivka, Novomykolaivka, Staryi Saltiv, Blahodatne, Prudianka, Lisne, Lebiazhe, Korobochkyne, Derhachi, Peremoha and others using tubed and rocket artillery.

There were no significant changes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts. Belarusian Armed Forces are taking measures to reinforce the security of Brest and Gomel oblasts of Belarus [near the Belarusian-Ukrainian border - ed.].

On the Sivershchyna front, Russian forces fired on the areas around Hai in Chernihiv Oblast and Hrudove, Yastrubyne, Bilopillia and Hrabovske in Sumy Oblast, and conducted aerial reconnaissance of the Ukrainian Defence Forces’ positions in the areas of Chernihiv and Sumy oblasts near the Ukrainian-Russian border.

On the Kramatorsk front, Russian occupying forces fired on the areas around Starodubivka, Dronivka, Pyskunivka, Siversk, Spirne and Ivano-Dariivka. The Russians also deployed UAVs in these areas.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russia’s main efforts are focused on maintaining the current positions of its troops. Russian forces fired on infrastructure near Chervona Dolyna, Kyselivka, Ternivka, Dobrianka, Oleksandrivka, Kobzartsi, Lepetykha and other towns and villages.
