The occupiers report that there are 26 patients with different diagnoses, particularly cancer and different infectious diseases. Some of them have allegedly been moved out of the city.

Oleksandr Lazarenko, a doctor who used to be the director of the Mariupol polyclinic # 3, explained that in the summer there is always an increase in infectious disease cases, especially of intestinal infections.

Due to the war, living conditions in the city have worsened: at the moment there is no drinking water and a shortage of hygiene products. In addition, there is almost no professional medical help.

"These are the reasons why infectious diseases are actively spreading. It’s possible that there are already cases of cholera, while there hasn’t been a single case during the last few years. It may lead to a high mortality rate among civilians", Lazarenko stated.
