Ukrainian Armed Forces suppress attempted Russian assaults in southern Ukraine – General Staff summary

Ukrainian defenders have suppressed attempts by the Russians to assault the Pivdennyi Buh front, the Russian forces have retreated and are focusing on preventing an offensive by Ukrainian Defence Forces.

Details: The situation on the Volyn and Polissia fronts has not changed significantly. The deadline for checking the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus has been extended until 31 July this year.

On the Sivershchyna front, in order to demonstrate their presence, Russian forces are firing on Ukrainian Armed Forces units and civilian infrastructure near the settlements of Kamianska Sloboda and Mykolaivka, Chernihiv Oblast, and Volfyne and Pavlivka, Sumy Oblast. They conducted aerial reconnaissance using a tactical-level UAV.

On the Kharkiv front, Russian forces fired using artillery on the areas of the settlements of Mospanove, Ruski Tyshky, Dementiivka, Zolochiv, Stara Hnylytsia, Ridne, Rtyshchivka, Pushkarne, Velyka Babka, Petrivka, Slatyne and Lebiazhe.

On the Sloviansk front, the invaders carried out artillery attacks near Dibrovne, Chepilia, Adamivka, Karnaukhivka, Mykilske, Kurulka, Khrestyshche and Mazanivka.

On the Donetsk front, the main efforts of the Russian forces are focused towards Kramatorsk and Bakhmut. They are carrying out systematic attacks on the positions of our [Ukrainian - ed.] troops along the line of contact to prevent the transfer of reserves to other fronts. They are trying to replenish their supplies of ammunition and fuel and lubricants.

On the Kramatorsk front, the invading forces fired using tube and rocket artillery tanks near Donetsk, Serebryanka, Verkhnokamianske, Spirne and Ivano-Darivka. The latter was the target of an air strike. They conducted assault operations towards Verkhnokamianske, where fighting continues.

On the Bakhmut front, Russian forces fired on Ukrainian troops from available firepower near the settlements of Berestove, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Bilohorivka, Pokrovske, Kodema, Vesela Dolyna, New-York, Yakovlivka, Vasiukivka, Klishchiivka and the territory of the Vuhlehirska Power Station. They carried out an airstrike near Striapivka.

Russian assault operations towards Dolomitne – Novoluhanske and Striapivka – Soledar ended in losses. Ukrainian soldiers drove back the invaders’ disorganised units. The invaders continue to attempt an assault towards the Vuhlehirska Power Station and near Pokrovske, fighting continues.

On the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian forces carried out artillery attacks near the settlements of Pisky, Avdiivka, Novomykhailivka, Prechystivka, Zaliznychne, Pavlivka, Vremivka, Novoandriivka, Shevchenko, Ternuvate, Volodymyrivka, Novoiakovlivka, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamianske and Poltavka. An airstrike was recorded near Prechystivka.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, the Russians are defending previously occupied positions, focusing efforts on preventing the offensive of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, and introducing reserve units.

Artillery attacks were reported near the settlements of Ivanivka, Tokareve, Trudoliubivka, Partyzanske, Kobzartsi, Posad-Pokrovske, Andriivka, Stepova Dolyna, Tavriiske, Olenivka, Shevchenkove, Prybuzke, Lymany, Kyselivka, Novomykolaivka, Velyke Artakove, Mykolaiv and Tetianivka.

All attempted Russian assault operations towards Mala Semeidynukha – Andriivka and Davydiv Brid – Bilohirka were immediately suppressed by Ukrainian troops. The invaders retreated.

There are three carriers of sea-based Kalibr cruise missiles positioned outside their base locations.

Ukrainian air power and rocket and artillery units continue to successfully engage concentrations of Russian manpower and military equipment as well as their ammunition depots.

"As a result of losses, enemy personnel on many fronts are refusing to go into battle and are resorting to sabotage," the General Staff notes.
