Russians conduct an assault near Bakhmut, battles are ongoing – General Staff report

Russian troops are trying to create favourable conditions for establishing control over Bakhmut and the territory of the Vuhlehirska power station, where fighting is currently ongoing.

Quote from the General Staff: "On the Bakhmut front, the enemy is trying to create favourable conditions for the establishment of control over the city of Bakhmut and the territory of the Vuhlehirska power plant. It fired on the areas around the settlements of Berestove, Vesele, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Vesela Dolyna, Kodema, Maiorsk, New-York and others.

The Russian soldiers carried out airstrikes on Pokrovske. They are also conducting assault operations in the Berestove region; near the Vuhlehirska power station, hostilities continue."

Details: There are no significant changes in the Russian forces’ activity on the Volyn, Polissia, and Sivershchyna fronts

On the Kharkiv front, shelling was recorded, in particular, near Staryi Saltiv, Petrivka, Ruski Tyshky, Pechenihy, Tsyrkuny, Pytomnyk, Dementiivka and Korobochkyne. The Russian invaders launched airstrikes near Mospanove and Rtyshchivka. They tried to advance into the village of Pytomnyk, but didn’t succeed. 

On the Sloviansk front, the Russian occupying forces fired from tanks, tube and rocket artillery in the areas of Dolyna, Bohorodychne, Kostiantynivka, Husarivka, Velyka Komyshuvakha, Pokrovske and other settlements. Ukrainian soldiers again successfully repelled Russian forces’ assaults in the Bohorodychne district.

On the Kramatorsk front, the Russian occupying forces shelled the Kramatorsk, Serebrianka, Verkhnokamianske and Ivano-Darivka districts with artillery. They carried out missile and air strikes near Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

Assaults in the districts of Hryhorivka and Spirne ended with losses for and the retreat of Russian soldiers. 

The aggressors continue systematically to shell civilian and military infrastructure on the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka, and Zaporizhzhia fronts.

The occupiers failed another reconnaissance-in-force in the area of ​​Novoselivka Druha, suffered losses and retreated. Russian units advancing in the areas of Mykilske and Novomykhailivka likewise participated.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, the Russian army is concentrating its main efforts on preventing the advance of Ukrainian troops deep into the temporarily occupied territory. The Russian soldiers are conducting intensive reconnaissance using UAVs.
