Ukrainian Special Services save soldier from occupation – Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry

Ukrainian intelligence has reported that a Ukrainian soldier had been evacuated from the occupied territory in southern Ukraine.

Quote: "Another example of effective cooperation is the joint efforts of the detectives from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and personnel from the Chief Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine that led to the successful evacuation of a Ukrainian soldier in the south of the country."

Details: The soldier has not been injured and has been handed over to military command. The Chief Intelligence Directorate added that from the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, intelligence in conjunction with other special services have carried out more than 10 successful operations to evacuate soldiers and their families as well as civilians, executive bodies representatives and material assets of national significance.

Background:

  • On 11 July, over 1100 people, almost 300 of them children, were evacuated from the temporarily occupied areas of the Kharkiv region.
  • 340,000 of the local population remain in the Donetsk region at the moment, while the rest have been evacuated to safe places.
