OLHA HLUSHCHENKO – SATURDAY, 2 JULY 2022, 07:53

Russian occupying forces are attacking Luhansk Oblast from different directions and are intensively shelling the oblast’s cities, towns and villages, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to repel two massive Russian offensives.

Quote: "Over the course of yesterday, the occupiers fired on Pryvillia, Lysychansk, Vovchoiarivka, Zolotarivka, Loskutivka, Verkhniokamianka and Bilohorivka using all types of weapons available to them.

Private houses are being burnt to the ground one after another. This intensity of shelling barely allows us to find shelter for those affected."

"On 1 July, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled two massive Russian offensives: towards Verkhniokamianka and the [Lysychansk - ed.] gelatine plant, where the enemy attempted to conduct reconnaissance-in-force. The occupiers retreated at both locations."

Details: Haidai said that several fires are still burning in different parts of the oblast.

Rescuers are barely managing to extinguish large fires in Lysychansk, including those in a multi-storey apartment building and in a shopping centre.

The head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration added that an injured man from Lysychansk was hospitalised in Chernivtsi on Friday.
