In occupied Mariupol, a young man leaves the Drama Theatre wearing the flag of Ukraine

Mariupol City Council has shown a photo of a daredevil who took to the streets of Mariupol with the flag of Ukraine, despite the city’s occupation by the Russians and the risk of detention and torture.

Quote: "Even occupied, Mariupol does not give up. The young man went with the flag of Ukraine to the square near the Drama Theater bombed by the Ruscists. It is really courageous to do this when even for speaking the Ukrainian language you can be sent "to the basement" [illegally imprisoned (locked in the basement as punishment) – ed.].
Tens of thousands of people are still unable to leave the city. But they are waiting and dreaming that soon Mariupol will be Ukrainian again."
