The mayor of Sumy, Oleksander Lysenko, has advised residents to leave the city for the weekend.

I think that we need to pay great attention to our safety today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. I ask everyone to take my advice."
Details: According to Lysenko, this weekend it will be safer outside the city than in Sumy.
In addition, the Mayor of Bilopillia, Yurii Zarko, used his Facebook page to urge residents to move further away from the Russian border.
Quote from Zarko: "It seems that we are in for a difficult weekend. Therefore, I would advise those who have the opportunity to go to stay with relatives for a couple of days, in villages at least 40 km from the border."
