Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Malyar explained why the state does not disclose the total number of defenders killed.
Source: Malyar on Facebook
Quotation: "We cannot announce the numbers, but the process is ongoing. It is not easy. People have experienced grief. Families are in different circumstances. We try on the one hand to approach them impeccably from the point of view of formal procedures, and on the other hand humanely.
So why hasn't the official death toll been announced yet? This is due to military necessity under martial law.
This is information that we do not want the Russian occupiers to know, because military specialists can draw many conclusions from this data and use this information for analysis and planning.
That is why, until the end of martial law, this information is kept confidential and cannot be made public."
Details: According to Malyar, this conversation took place in the context of informing people about the payments made by the Ministry of Defence to the families of victims.
The deputy minister of defence assured everyone that the families of the victims will receive adequate payments.
Malyar advised public initiatives that collect and publish data on the dead to take into account the fact that publishing such information currently harms the country's defence.
