Damages caused by hostilities in Irpin assessed at more than USD 900 million

The damage to Irpin's infrastructure from the war amounts to 25.3 billion hryvnias or almost 922 million dollars.

This is evidenced by the research data of the KSE Institute, collected as part of the Rebuildua project.

During the month-long occupation of Irpin, almost half of the total number of structures in the city were damaged - 10,500 buildings, of which 2,501 were completely destroyed or severely damaged.

Of the total amount of losses, the largest share belongs to the housing fund, amounting to 17.7 billion hryvnias, of which 12.6 billion hryvnias are due to the destruction of apartment buildings in the city. 

In Irpin, 9,690 residential buildings and outbuildings with a total area of 4.1 million metres squared were destroyed and damaged. This is almost half (48%) of the entire housing stock of Irpin.

The second portion, in terms of the amount of destruction, is social infrastructure. As a result of the war, 53% of all social facilities in the city were destroyed, which led to losses in the amount of 3.7 billion hryvnias, of which 1.3 billion hryvnias represent damage to educational institutions and 236 million hryvnias to medicine. 

As a result of hostilities in Irpin, 54 educational institutions, 26 healthcare facilities, and 16 cultural and religious facilities were damaged or destroyed.

The hostilities also caused the destruction of a significant number of industrial infrastructure facilities. According to the KSE Institute report, in total, there are 323 damaged or destroyed industrial buildings and structures worth 2.9 billion hryvnias.

Another 262.5 million hryvnias in damages were caused to the city due to the destruction of government and administrative buildings, police stations and post offices.

Reminder:

The total amount needed for the restoration of the destroyed assets of Ukraine is 165.1 billion dollars or 4.8 trillion hryvnias.

The amount of direct damage to the Ukrainian economy from the damage to and destruction of residential and non-residential buildings and infrastructure amounts to at least 95.5 billion dollars. or more than 2.6 trillion hryvnias.
