Head of the presidential office Andrii Yermak has suggested that the Verkhovna Rada create a temporary special commission that would monitor the use of weapons received from Ukraine's western partners.

Parliament, as a legislative body, should be involved in monitoring allied defence assistance…

All western weapons received are registered and sent to the front. Everything is clearly controlled and now this process will become even more open…

Transparency is the best recipe against Russian manipulation and fakes."

Details: The head of the presidential office made this proposal against the background of a statement by US Congresswoman Victoria Spartz, who expressed concern about the supervision of arms supplies to Ukraine and suggested that such a situation could, potentially, arise because of Yermak.

In his post, the head of the presidential office hinted that such accusations are "Russian attempts to unbalance the international coalition around Ukraine" and that they would "suffer a crushing collapse."

Quote: "Pro-Russian narratives will be broken."

Background: Last week Victoria Spartz appealed to US President Joe Biden with a request to provide Congress with information about Andrii Yermak, and also expressed concern about the supervision of arms supplies to Ukraine.

The White House promised to respond to the request.
