Several soldiers of the International Legion in Ukraine have been killed at the hands of the invaders and some have been captured but the Russian Federation exaggerates the number of dead, spreading fake news.

Source: Legion representative Damien Magru during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform media centre.

Quote: "Last week we reported that there are three more dead in our legion. The names that we publish are not a complete list. Unfortunately, we can't announce all the losses.

Last week, two Brazilians, a man and a woman, were killed. The names that we publish are heroes who lost their lives on the battlefield as a result of a Russian artillery strike. Douglas Burigo tried to rescue Talita Do Valle from a fire but died himself. Talita left the building engulfed in flames but, unfortunately, died."

Details: Magru also noted that Russia is spreading fake news about the International Legion.

"The Russian Federation reports that about 200 foreign soldiers have already died on the territory of Ukraine. But this is not true," he added.

According to Magru, several soldiers of the Foreign Legion are now in captivity. Andrew Hill was captured near Mykolaiv. The Russians had already published a video with him at the end of May but no more reports about the fighter’s condition have been received.

The Legion expresses concern about the intentions of the so-called "authorities" of the "DPR" to try Briton Andrew Hill as a mercenary. He is a serviceman of a unit of the Territorial Defence Forces of Ukraine,

As for Dylan Gil, he's not a Legionnaire or even a military man. He is a civilian volunteer who helped to evacuate people from Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

"The Russians and their henchmen continue to illegally persecute foreign citizens on the territory of Ukraine. This also applies to Britons Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin and Moroccan Brahim Saadun, who are military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Thus, Russia is trying to strengthen its negotiating position," he stressed.

Not far from Kharkiv, two Americans were captured by the Russians and the so-called "DPR court" plans to pass sentence on them.

Background: The so-called "Court" of the DPR illegal armed formation has sentenced to death Britons Sean Pinner and Aiden Aslin and Moroccan Brahim Saadun, who took part in military operations as part of the Ukrainian armed forces. The invaders have accused them of "mercenary activities and actions aimed at seizing power".
