"Everything is burning": the National Guardsmen show what the battles for Sievierodonetsk were like

The National Guard of Ukraine has released new footage of the fierce battles for the settlements of Luhansk region, in particular Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk.

Details: The video is an edited collection of recordings that were taken on the phones of National Guard of Ukraine fighters during tough battles. In Rubizhne, the National Guardsmen maintained their defence from the beginning of March to mid-May, and in Sievierodonetsk from the beginning of May to 24 June.

It shows, in particular, the civilian infrastructure of Ukrainian cities erased from the face of the earth by the Russian invaders, and the military equipment burned in the battles.

The National Guard of Ukraine fighters documented street battles taking place in cities burning from shelling, craters several metres deep made by aerial bombardments, and even how National Guards fighters were able to heat up breakfast when it was not possible to return to base for a long time.

Quote: "In those battles, the enemy lost more than 300 armoured vehicles, about 1,000 orcs [Russian infantry – ed.] were killed and about 1,500 wounded in Rubizhne and Sievierodonetsk, which their Ukrainian soldiers turned into a meat grinder for the Russian invader.

We will never forget the defence of these settlements and will always honour those heroes who gave their lives for Ukraine and victory."
