Russian attack on apartment building in Donetsk Oblast: death toll rises to 15, up to 24 trapped under rubble

At least 15 people have been killed in a Russian rocket attack on a five-storey building in the city of Chasiv Yar in Donetsk Oblast. Another 24 people might be trapped under the rubble.

Quote from the State Emergency Service: "As of 13:00 on 10 July, as a result of a rocket attack on a five-storey residential building in the city of Chasiv Yar 15 people have died and 5 were injured.

The SES has deployed 67 rescue workers and 10 appliances in the search and rescue operation."

Details: Rescue workers have posted a video from the scene in which rubble is being cleared.

Later, Pavlo Kyrylenko, Head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, added that five people were rescued from under the rubble. Rescuers were able to speak to several other people trapped under the rubble and are now maintaining contact with them.

"According to different estimates, another 24 people might be trapped there – including a nine-year-old child," Kyrylenko said.

On the evening of 10 July, the State Emergency Service reported that one person was pulled out [alive] from under the rubble at 18:10. 

In all, 15 civilians were killed and 6 were injured in the Russian attack.

Background: Earlier, the local authorities reported that at least 30 people might be trapped under the rubble of the five-storey building in Chasiv Yar which was attacked by Russians forces using Uragan multiple rocket launchers on the evening of 9 July.
