The occupiers have begun distributing pensions in Mariupol – mayor's adviser
DENIS KARLOVSKY - THURSDAY, 9 JUNE 2022, 16:28
The Russian occupiers have begun distributing pensions in rubles in captured Mariupol.
Source: Adviser to the Mayor of Mariupol Petro Andryushchenko
Andryushchenko: "The occupiers have started issuing pensions from Russia in Mariupol. According to them, about 47,000 pensioners have been registered, but our sources say that about 10,000 more Mariupol residents have not submitted documents for the occupiers' handouts on principle.
As expected, the issuing of pensions has turned into another hell and mockery. This chapter is scheduled until the end of the month, but yet again – it does not spare [people] the boorishness and the battle for survival."
Details: Converted from rubles to hryvnias, the pension is the equivalent of 2,600 hryvnias.
The pension is being handed out in cash, brought in by the occupiers the day before in armoured vehicles.
Andryushchenko is convinced that the Russian government is forced to print money in order to pay it to the inhabitants of the occupied territories of Ukraine.
Background:
- On 9 June, Andryushchenko said that the Russian invaders were burying the bodies of dead Mariupol residents under construction debris without dismantling the rubble.
In addition, collaborators are forcing teachers in the city to record videos with the participation of children in support of the occupation for the so-called "Russia Day" holiday on June 12.
