General Staff: Ukrainian Armed Forces repel Russian troops on Sievierodonetsk front

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have repulsed an attempt by Russian troops to advance on the town of Ustynivka.

Details: On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, as part of a scheduled inspection, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are conducting exercises on forming strike groups. The preparedness of Belarusian transport infrastructure to transport units of Belarusian troops is also being inspected. The Belarusian military exercises are set to continue until 11 June 2022.

Russian forces continue to demonstrate their presence on the Sivershchyna front in order to hinder the transfer of Ukrainian troops to other fronts.

On the Kharkiv front, Russia’s main efforts are focused on maintaining the previously occupied positions. Russian troops continue to plant mines in the area in order to hinder the advance of Ukrainian troops.

Russian troops are conducting an assault operation in order to improve their tactical position on the Sloviansk front. In order to prevent the Ukrainian Armed Forces from mounting a counter-offensive, Russian troops are performing combat engineering tasks in order to reinforce their positions near the city of Izium.

On the Lyman front, Russian forces attempted to conduct reconnaissance by combat in the area of Raihorodok, but were unsuccessful and were forced to retreat.

On the Sievierodonetsk front, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are successfully holding back the Russian troops storming Sievierodonetsk. Fighting is continuing in the city. Russia’s attempt to advance on the town of Toshkivka was unsuccessful. Russian forces also attempted to advance on the town of Ustynivka, but the Ukrainian Armed Forces have repelled the occupiers.

On the Bakhmut front, Russia has intensified its use of operational tactical and army aircraft. Russian troops fired on the positions of Ukrainian troops from mortars, tubed artillery, and MLRS in the areas around Pokrovske, Berestove, Zolote-4, Vrubivka, Travneve, Yakovlivka, and Dolomitne. Russian Ka-52 helicopters conducted airstrikes on Pokrovske, Vidrodzhennia, and Yakovlivka.

Near the village of Nahirne, Russian troops have retreated to their previously occupied positions after Ukrainian forces fired on them.

On the Avdiivka, Novopavlivske, and Zaporizhzhia fronts, Russian troops carried out intense firing on the positions of Ukrainian forces near Pisky, New-York, Liubomyrivka, Avdiivka, Novobakhmutivka, Novoselivka, Vuhledar, Orikhiv, Komyshuvakha, Vodiane, Pervomaiske, Marinka, and Opytne in order to hinder the actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and prevent reserves of the Ukrainian Defence Forces from being transferred to other fronts. Russian troops carried out an airstrike on the Ukrainian town of New-York and a missile strike on Kurakhove.

On the Pivdennyi Buh front, Russian troops are defending their current positions and have shelled Mykolaiv, Dolyna, Tavriiske, Kulbakino, Bila Krynytsia, Trudoliubivka, Blahodatne, Luch, and Topolyne.

Russian military personnel are demoralised. According to available information, the military personnel from the 106th Guards Airborne Division and 76th Guards Air Assault Division who have refused to take further part in military action in Ukraine are being transferred to the territory of the Russian Federation.
