Belarus plans to increase size of its army to 80,000

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Belarus is planning to increase the size of its army almost twofold: from 45,000 military personnel to 80,000.

Quote: "As part of creating a southern operational command centre, the number of personnel in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus is planned to increase to 80,000 people. New military units will be equipped with military equipment that is currently in storage."
Details: The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has also noted that there is a threat of missile and airstrikes on the Volyn and Polissia fronts from the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
Background: The Belarusian army currently comprises 45,000 personnel and occupies 52nd place in the Global Firepower Military Strength Rating of 142 armies across the world.
