Quote from Saldo: "The most important thing is that we will celebrate it [the national holiday of the Russian Federation] together with the whole of Russia, not separately. This is important. Of course, such measures will be developed so that residents can see and feel what a huge family we are returning to, and have become."
Background:
- The Ukrainian prosecutor’s office announced the charges of treason brought against Saldo. The occupiers "appointed" him head of the oblast on 26 April.
- The occupiers cut off Ukrainian mobile, landline and Internet networks in the Kherson region.
- The occupation administration has introduced a coat of arms with a double-headed eagle from the times of the Russian Empire and is trying to force people to obtain Russian citizenship.
- In Kherson Oblast, the occupiers are abducting people, torturing and killing them.
